Back in the early 2000s, Kia introduced the automotive market to a brand-new sport utility vehicle that would eventually become one of the most popular models on its lineup. Back then, the Kia Sorento was a compact traditional SUV, but in 2009 when it entered its second generation it was upgraded to a midsize crossover. Then a few years later, the Kia Sorento entered its third generation for 2021 and continues to be a force to be reckoned with within its segment. Now, the 2025 Kia Sorento is available right here in Joliet, Illinois, and we couldn’t be more stoked to offer it to residents of the area.
With the generational redesign just happening a few years ago, not much needed to change for the 2025 model year. Even still, Kia engineers did make a few subtle enhancements to the Sorento this year. In particular, they made some subtle adjustments to the exterior aesthetics. Firstly, the X-Line and X-Pro trim levels have both received black exterior badging; the Kia logo was added to the front, back and the wheels, while a Sorento emblem was added to the tailgate. In addition, the Gravity Gray exterior color option is being discontinued and replaced by the new Panthera Metal option.
Now that we’ve highlighted the few subtle enhancements coming to the Sorento this year, we thought we’d highlight the various trim levels in which the crossover will be available as well as the pricing information for each one. You can check out all of the trim levels you have to choose from as well as their drivetrain options and base MSRPs in the following table.
Trim Level | Drivetrain | Base MSRP* |
LX | FWD | $31,990 |
S | FWD | $34,590 |
S | AWD | $36,590 |
EX | FWD | $38,090 |

*Base MSRP excludes destination and handling, taxes, title, license fees, options, and retailer charges. Actual prices set by retailers may vary.
There are two different powertrains available in the 2025 Kia Sorento. The standard option, which comes equipped on the LX and S trim levels, is a 2.5L four-cylinder engine capable of generating a respectable 191 horsepower alongside 195.2 pound-feet of torque. However, if you’d like even more power, you can instead opt for the powertrain that comes with the rest of the trim levels. This engine is a 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that boosts power output to 281 hp and 311.6 lb-ft. of torque.
The Sorento offers seating for up to six or seven passengers, once again depending on the trim level you choose. You’ll have up to 12.6 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats to fill with your cargo, but if you need more space and don’t have a car full of passengers you can open up even more. You can start by dropping the third row to open up 38.5 to 45.0 cu. ft. of space, then drop down the second row as well to open up a total of 75.5 cu. ft.
Finally, we just want to wrap things up by including a list of some of the most exciting highlighted features and technologies found in the midsize crossover SUV.
We’ve only scratched the surface of everything the 2025 Kia Sorento has to offer, so if you think you might be interested you should consider taking one for a spin for yourself. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call here at the sales desk.
