2025 Kia Soul Exterior Passenger Side Front Profile

2025 Kia Soul Joliet IL

When it comes to the Kia lineup, even though it hasn’t been around the longest, it doesn’t get much more iconic than the Soul. The Kia Soul was introduced in 2008 and not long after the company released its first ad campaign featuring the dancing hamsters, which certainly helped grow the vehicle’s success. The subcompact crossover has undergone plenty of changes through the years, the most recent of which was a mid-generation facelift in 2023, a few years into its fourth generation. This year not much has changed, but a new Soulmate Special Edition package is available for the 2025 Kia Soul, which has already arrived right here at World Kia in Joliet, Illinois.

Soulmate Special Edition

First things first, let’s dive into that Soulmate Special Edition we mentioned. This new package comes with some exciting design cues and extra standard features for your Kia Soul. The new package includes an exclusive set of 18” alloy wheels, an interior color called Umber, a two-tone roof, lower body cladding, SynTex and Cloth seating, a limited edition interior badge, sound-connected LED speaker lights and an exciting Harman Kardon premium audio system. This new package is only available on the EX trim level, which is the top-of-the-line option, so this creates a new pinnacle for the Kia Soul.

Technical Specifications

Now that we’ve highlighted what’s new in the vehicle, we want to dive into some of the most pertinent details to consider when shopping for a new vehicle like the Kia Soul. We’re talking about its technical specifications, such as its power output and fuel efficiency. You can find all of these crucial details in the following table.

Horsepower 147 hp
Torque 132 lb-ft.
City Fuel Efficiency 27 mpg
Highway Fuel Efficiency 33 mpg
Combined Fuel Efficiency 30 mpg
Passenger Volume 101.0 cu. ft.
Cargo Capacity 18.7-24.2 cu. ft.
Max Cargo Capacity 62.1 cu. ft.

We need to expand on a couple things in the table before we move on. For starters, the fuel economy ratings are for the LX, S and GT-Line trim levels. The EX trim level has slightly better fuel efficiency, achieving 29/35/31 mpg, respectively. The other thing we wanted to mention is cargo capacity, as there are actually three different numbers for the base cargo volume – with the board in the upper position (18.7 cu. ft.), the lower position (23.4 cu. ft.), or without the board altogether (24.2 cu. ft.).
